God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law<\/strong>: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | Romans 7:8 But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | Romans 7:9 For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | Romans 7:10 And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | Romans 7:11 For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | Romans 7:12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | <\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | Christ confirms that God’s Law remains valid<\/b><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law<\/strong>, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | Matthew 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | <\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | But wasn’t the law nailed to the cross?<\/span> – if there were 3 laws [the laws of the land, the Jewish ceremonial laws and God’s laws] – what was nailed to the cross?<\/b><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | [The Ceremonial (Ritual) Law was nailed to the cross.]<\/b><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | Colossians 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances<\/strong> that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross<\/strong>;<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | <\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | Ephesians 2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances<\/strong>; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | \u00a0<\/b><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | Other New Testament Law-keeping texts<\/b><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | Hebrews 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts<\/strong>: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | <\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | Romans 5:13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | \u00a0<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | Romans 5:20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | <\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | That’s it! – we’re under grace now – we can make void the Law of God – we can carry on sinning! – can’t we?<\/b><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | Romans 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | Romans 6:2 God forbid<\/strong>. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | Then the Word of God follows up with a repeat to ensure that we are without excuse:<\/i><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | Romans 6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | \u00a0<\/b><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | But we don’t want to be subject to the Law – we just want the Love of Jesus<\/span> – won’t that do?<\/b><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | Can’t we have His Love, without obedience to His Law?<\/b><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | Romans 2:11 For there is no respect of persons with God.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | Romans 2:12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | <\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | Romans 4:15 Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | <\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | Look – I don’t want to be subject to God’s law – it means that I must repent of my sins.<\/span><\/b><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | I just want Christ as my Saviour – but I don’t want to submit to His authority<\/b><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | Isn’t there an easy way where I can claim Him and say “I’m saved” <\/b><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | \u00a0<\/b><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | <\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | <\/td>\n<\/tr>\n | Romans 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith?
